MoonWalk 2013On Saturday 11th May 17,000 women pounded the pavement of London throughout the night to raise money for breast cancer. It was a 26.2 mile walk, which is better known as the Moonwalk.

Walk the Walk all started 16 years ago when just 13 women walked the New York City Marathon in their bras to raise money and awareness for breast cancer. Since then it has transformed into a multi-million pound charity. In 1998, Walk the Walk entered its second team into the London Marathon but with too many people wanting to take part the founder of Walk the Walk, Nina, decided to create a one of marathon – setting off at midnight. So the MoonWalk was born.

This year there were an incredible 17,000 walkers including SMPR’s Donna Liebenberg – and between all of them a massive £3.2 million was raised before the walk had even begun.
